Adult Generalized anxiety disorder:
If you have generalized anxiety disorder, you may be able to participate in a clinical research study of an investigational drug conducted at the Ohio State University Department of Psychiatry. All qualified participants may receive investigational drug or placebo and care at no cost and may receive some compensation for their time. The Omega-3 and Therapy Studies for Childhood Depression (OATS-Depression) and Bipolar Disorder- Not Otherwise Specified (OATS-BIPOLAR)
Do you have a child who is often sad, angry, or has frequent mood swings? Do you suspect or know they have a Mood Disorder (Depression or Bipolar)? We are currently accepting children ages 7-14 for a 12-week study of two non-medical treatments for depression or bipolar mood disorders. Children do not need to be previously diagnosed.
The purpose of this study is to test whether or not Omega-3 dietary supplementation and/or individual-family psychoeducational psychotherapy (IF-PEP) will improve functioning in children with Depression or Bipolar- Not otherwise specified, or cyclothymia.

Adult Depression study:
If you are currently suffering from depression, you may qualify to participate in a clinical research study of an investigational medication. To qualify, you must be 18 to 65 year old, currently depressed, and meet other eligibility criteria. Study-related exams and medication maybe provided to qualified participants at no cost. Adult Depression Study: Add-on treatment for depression:
The Department of Psychiatry is enrolling adults in a clinical research study evaluating an investigational drug added-on to an antidepressant in patients who are depressed. Participants will receive study-related care at no cost and some compensation for their time. iSpot-D: International Study to Predict Optimized Treatment for Depression
The goal of this study is to use psychological and physical assessments to help predict how a patient may respond to antidepressants. You may qualify to participate if you are:
- Age 18-65
- Currently depressed
- Willing to receive one of three FDA-approved antidepressants
Participation involves 2 days of assessments, and 8 follow-up web-based questionnaires over 12 months.
Participants will receive free evaluation and some compensation for their time.
