Picture of Cheryl CarminWelcome! I am pleased to introduce the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health’s new Health Psychology Predoctoral Internship at The Ohio State University and the Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC). Included on this website is information about our internship program, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, the OSUWMC, and the city of Columbus, OH.

At a time when psychology internship programs are undergoing attrition, we are especially pleased to be developing a new internship with a focus on clinical health psychology. This effort speaks to the support of our Department Chair, Dr. John Campo, and his vision of academic preeminence and a comprehensive system of behavioral health care that is committed to the public health, service integration, evidence based practice, and the delivery of value based clinical services.

Located in the State’s capitol, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is one of the largest and most diverse academic medical centers in the country and the only academic medical center in central Ohio. For over 20 years, OSUWMC has been consistently ranked by US News & World Report as one of the top hospitals in the country with ten top ranked specialty areas.  Interns will find that OSUWMC has a wealth of resources to enhance both clinical and research experiences. Our internship is further enriched by our partnership with The Ohio State University and its location within the thriving city of Columbus. I encourage you to browse the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health website and the The Ohio State University website  to familiarize yourself with these resources.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about the internship or the application process.
